"Writing the College Essay" Workshop being offered this summer. |
SENIOR CLASS OF 2011
All of you will be required to have at least one final draft of a college essay to turn in on the first day of school to your English teacher.
In order to assist you in this process, the English Department will be running a one-day workshop this summer on “Writing the College Essay.”
The workshop will take place on Thursday, August 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Paul. The workshop will be run by Mrs. McGuire, Mrs. Stover and Miss Catherine Forsa. At that time, Mrs. McGuire, Mrs. Stover and Miss Forsa will review your essay and make suggestions for strengthening its content, structure and overall presentation.
If you plan on attending the workshop, you should come prepared with a rough draft of at least one essay. The teachers will not be writing the essay for you, so you must come to the workshop prepared with your draft.
If you are interested in attending this workshop and did not sign up before the end of the school year, please do so by July 15. You can call Mrs. Mielcarz, Dean of Academics, at (860) 584-0911 to sign up.
